Duties as a Supported Living Specialist

  • Supervise and care for residents within established policies and procedures. Includes administering medication, meal preparation, light housekeeping, engaging residents in activity, and assistance with personal hygiene tasks.

  • Facilitate residents' involvement in social, recreational, educational, vocational, and health care by transporting / escorting to appointments and engaging in community outings.

  • Be reliable, attend occasional trainings and staff meetings.

  • Provide input to the team and other professionals with regard to the implementation and/or modifications of the residents' individual support plan and daily schedule.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience or education supporting individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, and/or mental health disorders.

  • Must pass a thorough background check, health exam and drug screen.

  • Able to speak and understand verbal and written instructions in English.

  • Able to use technology necessary to perform job responsibilities.

  • Able to physically perform all duties related to providing residents assistance with activities of daily living and housekeeping

  • Preferred experience of at least one year (but newcomers welcome)
